Many of the patches in rev 1 have digital glitches which are audible (especially in KB3 mode, and its a nightmare upgrading this beast via midi. KB3 mode eats up a lot of polyphony, so if you want to layer the KB with other sound you will definitely need the voice expansion.įirst make sure your board has revision 2 already installed, sonically it makes a difference. Layers can all be active, triggered by range, velocity(triple strike is so cool), after touch. You want, with instant access to up to 4 parameters for each layer with the drawbars. This is were this puppy shines up to 4 layers any sounds If you are and organ player it may take some getting use to. The action is really middle of the road, not too heavy or too light. I know quite a few people with 2X's, and none have had faulty keys nor complain about the action. Do this and the problem suddenly goes away. The actual soulution is simple, the board is so heavy that it bends the keybed and needs to be supported on a solid surface or a keyboard stand with 3 support arms. Hopefully I can help you with a few of your questions. i can't get to play one here in BrisVegas because no one will get one up from sydney for me (despite BrisVegas having 3 million people - a big city for australia).Īny help would be so so so so so so great. is this possible? with the roland it is (upper1+upper2) but i was wondering what the kb3 mode was like. i want to have a 2 keys rig with my synth on top transmitting note data into the pc2x (so playing the kurzweil's organ sounds on the top synth) whilst still playing a full 88 keys of piano on the pc2x. another thing that will decide what i get - with the pc2x, can you have a performance (like roland) or a layer (whether upper1, upper2, lower or whatever) with a piano sound and the kb3 mode. is that correct or was it only the first shipment? i don't want to go for a weighted controller and a module the roland drawbars sound like an old organ on an AM radio and i'm not sure the S80 has drawbar feature.Ĭan you 's let me know if the action is really bad/prone to breaking. i really want the kurzweil but on a thread i posted before, a lot of you PC2X owners said the action was a bit dodgy.
